NOTE: No time-scale officer, except Cadets of the Administrative Service and Probationers of the Police Service during the period
of their probatioh, receive free quarters. If occupying a Government house a time-scale officer will be charged its economic rent up to a maximum of 15%; if a Government house is not available and if the Colonial Secretary is satisfied that the officer cannot obtain accommodation at a rental equal to or less than 15% of his salary the Government will pay him the difference between 15% of his salary and the rental of an approved house.
